We are a regional veterinary medical and wellness center serving cats only. CatCare has been a Gold-level member of the American Association of Feline Practitioners’ Cat Friendly Practice program since 2015.
Our veterinarians and support staff are sensitive to and trained in meeting the unique medical, surgical, and comfort needs of feline patients, and we strive in every situation to create practical solutions and change lives of cats and their people for the better.
Clinic owner and medical director, Dr. Patricia Joy Shea, is a 1999 graduate of the joint DVM degree program of Oregon State University and Washington State University, and finished first in her class academically. She also completed a postgraduate rotating internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, and has practiced feline medicine at CatCare since 2002.
Dr. Shea also is a graduate of the small animal veterinary acupuncture program of the Chi Institute of Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine in Florida.
Annually Dr. Shea completes 50 or more hours of continuing education exclusively in feline health care topics, and in 2017 she was one of a few Americans who completed a 10-month Distance Education in Feline Medicine course sponsored by the Center for Veterinary Education at the University of Sydney in Australia. Her summaries of current veterinary journal articles pertaining to feline health and medicine topics are read by veterinary professionals and cat lovers around the world through the American Association of Feline Practitioners online newsletter and the Winn Feline Foundation Cat Health News Blog.
You can rest assured that patients at CatCare always receive the benefit of the most current feline medical knowledge available.
